Lunch at Bayfare Social drinking Albamar Albarino Rias Baixas 2023



In my previous post, I posted some pictures from the terrace of Bayfare Social restaurant in Rosewood Hotel HK, but no food or wine. So, here they are, some pictures from another lunch I had there a few weeks ago.





I really enjoy Bayfare Social Restaurant (@bayfaresocial), a Spanish restaurant with a good selection of Tapas and other Spanish specialities.   









The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the wine list is full of interesting wines. The terrace is a great spot, shaded from the Sun with a great view, perfect for lunch and dinner.

Good picture opportunities with the Aqualuna (@aqualunahk) in the background. 

Pay them a visit, it's worth it! 





Albamar Albarino Rias Baixas Spain 2023


This light and crisp Albarino was a great choice to accompany the tapas. Although I would have loved for it to be more substantial, it was still really enjoyable and fresh. And its balanced palate, enhanced by high acidity and subtle salinity, went well with the various textures and flavors of the food. It is a quaffable white, summery wine, ideal as an aperitif with appetizers or to pair with salads, fish, and light dishes.

LeDomduVin: Birthday Lunch at Bouillon HK




Birthday Lunch at Bouillon HK 


Birthday celebration lunch at Bouillon (@bouillon.hk) with Daan (@daanbeirnaert1) with wine pairing and serving by Bouillon's Sommelier/Beverage Manager Emeric Maisonneuve (@emericmaisonneuve). 






I like Bouillon, a charming "Bistro Parisien" located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. It was not my first visit, and I always come back with pleasure. 







Chef Johan Ducroquet's food is good, flavorful, and comforting. The decor is simple, comfy, and cozy. The wine list is full of gems carefully selected by Emeric. The ambiance is always relaxed and welcoming. 







The wines paired well with the food. We had a glass of Domaine Gueguen Petit Chablis 2019 with the starters...










...and a glass of Domaine Bernard Duseigneur La Goutte du Seigneur Côtes du Rhône 2023 with the main courses. Both are lovely wines. 








It made my birthday celebration lunch a very pleasurable experience.

Great tasting lunch at Auor Restaurant Hong Kong with Thibault Liger-Belair and his wines, the team of L’IMPÉRATRICE, and a few wine lovers and Sommeliers.

I was recently invited to a lunch hosted by Vinosophy and Cervoni Wine at La Brasserie HK, presenting some of the wines from Clos Venturi.

Thank you, Pierre, for inviting me, and thank you, Vincent, for introducing Clos Venturi’s wines to us. They were really lovely (full description on my blog soon, along with @siretchampagne we had as an aperitif and @aurelien_verdet Chambolle Musigny as a bonus wine from the restaurant head sommelier @chowchester ). Thank you 🙏😁🥂🍷👍

It was a really nice lunch with a good bunch of people, good found and good wines.

I cannot put all the pictures in one post, but those will give you a good idea.

LeDomduVin: Bollinger RD 2008 - HK Launch Lunch

Great lunch today, organised by Jensen Wines and Spirits, in a magnificent house on top of a hill overlooking the bay, for the launch of @champagne_bollinger  RD 2008. 




A beautiful champagne, light, mineral, and fresh, with razor-sharp acidity, outstanding balance and complexity, rich, refined, elegant, sophisticated, with a long finish. Loved it. Highly recommended. 



We tasted it in 3 different bottle formats: bottle, magnum and jeroboam, which I thought very interesting. And, to my end of the table, we all agreed the best expression of it came from the magnum format, which sublimed and enhanced this beautiful RD 2008, in ways both the bottle and the jeroboam didn’t. 




Although it was the same champagne, and the 3 of them tasted delicious, the bottle format was really good, but the magnum seemed more open, more expressive, complex and richer. In contrast, the Jeroboam seemed slightly tight and shy, as if he needed more time to fully express himself. 









We finished with the Special Cuvée NV in magnum, also a great treat. 





It was an excellent opportunity to meet @cyrildelarue from the Bollinger family, who gave many explanations and details and answered our questions. I was glad to spend some time with him discussing at the end of the lunch. Thank you, Cyril, to your family and you, for your Champagnes. 

It was also an excellent opportunity to catch up with the Jebsen team again. Thank you to Melody, who invited me and insisted on me coming while I was hesitant. Yet, it would have been a shame to miss such a lovely lunch. Thank you to the Jebsen team: Melody, Ivy, Kay, David and Louis, and to Mr Jebsen himself, of course.
